Dean wasn't sure what being him actually meant anymore. It used to be taking care of Sam, but lately his presence was making Sam's life more difficult than it otherwise would have been. It used to mean being a hunter, but he was useless for half of every 24 hours, now. What else was there?
If Sam had asked, Dean would have advised him not to trust any vampires. Full stop. Deep down, he wanted Sam to trust him and it made things easier, but he remained aware that he was still a monster. Even he didn't know how much truth there was to the promise that he'd outgrow his conscience and human emotions.
He climbed out of the car and waited for Sam before heading inside the bar. "What are you thinking you'll do when this is over?"
