"It caters to a very specific kind of clientele." He shrugged. Regardless of that, he was still glad Sam tracked him down. It was selfish and he knew it made Sam's life harder, but he'd missed his little brother and having him back made him feel a little closer to human.
"I dunno that I really had a 'life' there, exactly. It was more like a," he shrugged and considered how to phrase it. "A holding pattern, really. It was... what I was doing to kill the time until I could get a life. Or end it, I guess. Half the time I was trying to figure out how to off myself. Rid the world of another monster."
"It wasn't all bad, though, really. In between all the crazy, there were moments I was almost, kind of happy. Eric could be almost friendly when he wanted to be and I was doing what I was told. Some of the other vampires weren't too bad."
